BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Quoting several members of the Bowling Green State University women's basketball program after the Falcons' 66-58 win over visiting Northern Illinois Wednesday night (Feb. 8) at Anderson Arena...
BGSU HEAD COACH CURT MILLER
"Through the course of a season, you win games in a lot of fashions. Some are crisp and clean from start to finish, and you can't be happier. And, some are what others would consider ugly wins. Today, you would consider this a win where we survived, but that's what you need to do; you need to find ways to win games when you're not playing your best basketball."

(Was Amber Flynn the X factor again tonight?)
"I thought she was. She gave us very valuable minutes when Ali (Mann) was in foul trouble. When Carin (Horne) was in foul trouble, we went to our big lineup, with three post players in a great deal. I think we had success in stretches with their lineup. Amber was very active, and found gaps in their zone, and to the credit of our kids on the perimeter, they found her in those gaps. She came up big for us. Also, Amber is one of the best help-side post defenders we have, and she came over and got a real big charge (late in the game)."
(You went inside, which you wanted to do, but Liz's [Honegger's] 3s were big shots, too)
"They were really big. I thought we did a much better job of trying to get it inside during the game, but, of course, our kids still love to shoot 3s. They have the green light, and Liz's 3s gave us a lot of momentum. They gave us that cushion down the stretch, that we could play aggressive at the other end of the floor."
JUNIOR CENTER LIZ HONEGGER
"We just continue to find ways to win games. It was a battle tonight; they came ready for us. From the tip, I didn't think we had the same intensity (as Northern Illinois), just like in the Toledo game. But, they came out strong and played a great game against us."
"At halftime, we talked about (needing to) go to the basket. We were fading away from the basket, and no one was really taking it inside. (Coach Miller) talked about toughness; going to the rim, getting post-ups and finishing shots."
JUNIOR F/C AMBER FLYNN
"I know I don't contribute as much as some of the other players, but I just want to try to help in any way I can. We have great chemistry on our team, and when one of us is down, someone else is always there to pick us up. We definitely could not do this without each other."
