Falcons Travel To Ball State

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team will travel to Muncie, Indiana tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 10 to compete against Ball State University. The opening events will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Last Week's Action Against Northern Illinois
The BGSU gymnastics lost a close one to the Huskies last Saturday night by a score of 190.850-190.025. Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week Jessica Guyer led the team with a third place finish on the vault (9.725), tied for first on the beam (9.750), and won the floor with a 9.775.
Allison Swafford (9.725) tied Guyer for third on the vault, while Jessica Bradley would tie for second on the bars. Jholeen Ponce and Marie-Eve Boisvert flipped their way to a 9.600 and a tie for fourth. Guyer would tie NIU's Leah Johnson for first on the beam, followed by Bradley (9.700) taking third. To end the competition, the Orange and Brown were lead by Jillian Stranges (9.675) tumbling her way to a third followed by Guyer landing a stellar performance to outright win first.
A Look At The Cardinals
The Ball State University Cardinals come into the meet with a record of 0-5 overall and 0-3 in the MAC. Last week, MAC opponent Kent State knocked off the Cardinals by a score of 187.375-184.275. They are led by junior Kelly Watson who was the top finisher in the all-around with a score of 37.725. Also helping BSU was sophomore Erica Gilkerson who notched a second place finish on beam (9.325), and a third place finish on floor with a score of 9.600. These two teams met up at Bowling Green last year with the Falcons getting the best of the Cardinals by a score of 193.000-191.700.
Schedule Reminder
Following the meet with the Cardinals the Falcons will stay on the road for another MAC match-up with Western Michigan. They will stay on the road for their next four competitions. Finally they will return home for their last regular season meet on March 17 at 7:00 p.m. against Eastern Michigan.
