BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University women's basketball student-athlete Ali Mann has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Team, it was announced Thursday (Feb. 9). Mann, named to the team for the first time in her Falcon career, was chosen to the third team.
The District IV team is made up of student-athletes from Division I schools in the states of Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee. To be nominated, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore, a starter or important reserve, and must carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher.
Mann, a junior, was one of four Mid-American Conference student-athletes named to the District IV team. She maintains a 3.39 cumulative grade point average as an accounting major.
On the court, Mann leads the Falcons with 14.9 points per game, and has scored in double digits in 19 of BGSU's 21 games this season. The Chelsea, Mich., native also averages 7.6 rebounds per game, good for second on the team.
The Falcons, after Wednesday's (Feb. 8) 66-58 win over Northern Illinois, are 19-2 overall and 10-0 in MAC play, heading into a Saturday (Feb. 11) game at Ball State. BGSU plays four of the final six regular-season games on the road.
