BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green (6-6) fell behind early by allowing two first-inning runs and never recovered in a 7-3 loss to St. Francis College. A pair of freshman, Brandon McFarland and Greg Feldkamp each recorded an RBI in the losing effort.
A trio of Terrier singles in the opening stanza led to a 2-0 deficit for Bowling Green. Bowling Green then trimmed the disadvantage to one with a score in the third.
St. Francis responded with a four-spot in the following inning, stretching their lead to 6-1 after four innings. Head Coach Danny Schmitz then made seven subsitutions that proved to make a difference. McFarland and Feldkamp entered the game to drive in a run apiece, and Senior Tyler Wasserman scored a run. However, the Falcon comeback fell short with a 7-3 final score.
Freshman Brian Hangbers threw two scoreless innings, surrendering just one hit. Sophomore Brett Browning and Freshman Sam Campitella combined to finish off the final two innings, not allowing a hit.
Seniors Dash Yost and Wasserman continued to balloon their batting averages, each tallied two hits in the contest.
After beginning the season with six consecutive victories, the Falcons' season has flip flopped by dropping six consecutive games, evening their record at 6-6.
The Brown and Orange look to get back on track Tuesday, March 14th when they travel down to Wright State for a non-conference game against the Raiders. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
