WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team is in West Lafayette, Ind., preparing for Sunday's (March 19) game vs. UCLA in the first round of the NCAA Championships. Starting time has been listed as approximately 2:52 p.m. EST, and the game will be televised on ESPN and ESPNU.
The Falcon players, coaches and traveling party, after a Friday-morning practice at Anderson Arena, boarded the bus at 1:00 p.m. for the journey to West Lafayette. Upon arrival and check-in to the hotel, the team had dinner, then an evening team meeting and film session.
Saturday dawned sunny but a bit chilly in West Lafayette. The day began with several administrative meetings -- actually, the day began with two low-ranking team officials using credit cards to scrape ice off the windows of a courtesy car that had no scraper, but that's another story entirely -- at Mackey Arena on the Purdue campus, and each of the eight teams at the site held their press conferences and open practices.

After practice, Miller met with the ESPN television talent -- play-by-play announcer Dave Barnett, color analyst Brenda VanLengen and sideline reporter Wendi Nix -- for a brief interview session.
Saturday evening will be similar to Friday for the Falcons -- dinner, followed by a meeting and film session, and off to bed to rest up for the 7:50 a.m. Sunday-morning shootaround at the arena.
ESPN TV COVERAGE
Whip-around Coverage: For the first two rounds of the NCAA Division I Women's Championship, multiple games (as many as four) will begin within one telecast window on ESPN or ESPN2 (note: games will have staggered tip times so each window will start with one particular game). During those windows, the networks plan to `whip-around' to the best action from different games for viewers in most of the nation (everywhere but the home markets of the competing teams). The networks plan frequent switches to and updates from other games as action dictates.
Regionalization/Home Market Protection: In the home markets of the competing teams, ESPN or ESPN2 will primarily televise the game of local interest. While constant updates from the other games will be provided, the networks, for the most part, will generally not switch to another game during live action, thereby establishing home market protection..
ESPNU: ESPNU will offer complete game telecasts of 10 early-round matchups, all of which are offered regionally and/or as part of whip-around coverage on ESPN and ESPN2. Seven first-round games will be featured, while three second-round games will be televised.
INTERNET LIVE STATISTICS: Live stats for each game of the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship will be available at NCAASports.com. Due to the exclusivity of this agreement, BGSUFalcons.com and other web sites are not permitted to offer live stats.
