WACO, Texas/ DEFIANCE, Ohio - The women's track team ran a handful of runners in two different locations this weekend. Scott Sehmann, head coach for the team took nine athletes to Waco, Texas to compete in the Dr. Pepper Invitational, while assistant coach Cami Wells took six to Defiance College to compete in the Dick Small Invitational.
In Waco, Bowling Green saw Whitney Hartman take home an individual victory in the hammer throw. Hartman threw 50.43-meters (165-05.00) a new personal best for the Bowling Green native. Also competing for the Orange and Brown in the Hammer were Paris Bussey, who finished sixth (144-01.00).
In the discus throw, sophomore Lauren Bryant placed fifth (139-09.00) and Hartman took sixth (138-08.00).
Hartman and Bryant also teamed up to place fourth (44-09.50) and fifth (42-02.25) respectively. Freshman Takara Dunning took home seventh (40-11.50).
The 4x100-meter relay took home an eighth place finish.
For the sprints Nicole Standback finished eighth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.88. Jessica White took home a fifth place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.05 seconds. It was her best time since the 2004 season. White also took home sixth place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time 24.60, a new personal best for the junior.

In Defiance, the Falcons competed hard as well. With a limited number of athletes, the Falcons did come away with several positives in Saturday's meet. Junior Andi Bunko took the win the javelin throw (38.23-meters).
Angela Raizis also saw victory, finishing first in the 800-meter with a time of 2:25.53.
Kylie Korsnack took home a fifth place finish in the 1500-meter run, crossing the line at 5:13.10. Korsnack also finished eighth in the javelin, tossing 27.03-meters.
Megan McAuley finished fifth in the shot put with a distance of 9.53-meters. She also finished sixth in the 800-meter run, with a time of 2:34.55.
"The women that competed did a nice job in Defiance," said assistant coach Cami Wells. "Andi had a good opening meet and Angie got her first collegiate win."

The Falcons will travel to Athens, Ohio on Friday and Saturday to compete in the McDonald Invitational held on the campus of Ohio University.
