Orlando, Fla. - Tensions began to mound for sophomore Jenna Nussbaum after being down one point and 4-1 in her second set at the No. 2 singles flight. The Glenview, Ill. native fought back to take second set 7-5 and won the tiebreaker 1-0 (8). The Falcons went on to win the match 7-0 over Mt. St. Mary's. With the shutout, BGSU becomes 9-4 on the season, while the Mount drops to 3-0.
Heidi Romer and Jenna Nussbaum combined once again at the No. 1 doubles flight, while the sisters' Jakupcin took the win at the No. 2 flight. Both were won, 8-1. Long time partners Andrea Meister and Andrea Volle defeated the No. 3 Mount doubles pair with an 8-4 score.
If the No. 2 singles battle is not taken into account, the Falcons did not allow more than four points in a given match. Meister held her opponent scoreless at the No. 4 slot, while Ashley Jakupcin, Stefanie Menoff, and Libby Harrison allowed just one point in each of their first sets.
The Orange and Brown will close their spring break schedule with the Dukes of Duquesne University. First serve will be thrown at 11:30 a.m. at Lake Cane.
