TOLEDO, Ohio - Senior Heidi Romer's win at the No. 3 singles flight places the co-captain just one win off tying the Bowling Green All-Time Career Singles Win record. Romer's 78th career was one of two singles win for the Falcons in their 5-2 loss at conference rival Toledo. With the loss, the Orange and Brown drop to 13-8 overall and 4-2 in the MAC, while the Rockets improve to 13-5 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
Freshman Kelsey Jakupcin also scored for the Falcons with her three set victory over UT's Sarah Horning at the No. 5 singles. Senior Andrea Meister's match was pushed to the third set before she was overcome by UT's Jenny Belksky at the No. 4 singles flight.
Bowling Green, in an attempt to shake up the doubles line-up, saw parings between Ashley Jakupcin and Stefanie Menoff at the No. 2 flight and Kelsey Jakupcin and Andrea Meister at the third position. The latter duo was the only Falcon squad to find success in the doubles slot with their convincing 8-2 win.
BGSU will travel to Ypsilanti, Michigan to face the Eagles of Eastern Michigan at 1:00 p.m. Yesterday, the Eagles became just the second MAC team to post a single point in their 6-1 loss to conference powerhouse Western Michigan.
