BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University baseball team, fresh off a road win over nationally-ranked Notre Dame, returns home for a three-game weekend series against the defending MAC champion Miami RedHawks. The Mid-American Conference series will begin Friday, April 28th at 3 PM inside Warren Steller Field.
2005 First Team All-MAC selection, Alan Brech is expected to make the start for the Falcons.
Falcons Snap Notre Dame's 23-Game Winning Streak
Bowling Green jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the second inning and added some key runs later in the game to offset Notre Dame's rally, as the Falcons defeated the Irish 11-8 to end Division I baseball's longest winning streak of the 2006 season at 23 games.
The Falcons made three key defensive plays - a diving outfield catch, a runner thrown out at the plate and a dive-and-scoop play on a groundball seemingly headed for centerfield. The Brown and Orange excelled offensively as well with 17 hits, including Junior Kurt Wells who went 4-for-5 with two RBI.

Un-Brech-Able
Junior Alan Brech has been sensational in his last three starts, recording a 1.57 ERA, a 2-0 record and 16 strikeouts in 23.0 innings pitched. The 2005 First Team All-MAC squad member is making a strong case for reelection this season. Brech's 2.17 ERA ranks third in the conference while also finding himself in the top ten with a .254 opponent's batting average.
Quick Starts
Scoring runs early and often has been a key component to the Falcons 11-1 start to the home schedule. In fact, Bowling Green has scored at least one first-inning run in each of the 11 wins. BGSU's only loss inside Warren Steller Field this season is also the only home game lacking a Falcon first-inning score.
