Guyer Named To ESPN The Magazine All-District Squad

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Jessica Guinness (swimming) and Jessica Guyer (gymnastics) were both named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District women's at-large teams, announced by CoSIDA Thursday morning. Guiness earns first-team honors, while Guyer was named to the second-team.
Guinness, a native of Sylvania, Ohio, participated in on two record-breaking relay teams. Guinness, along with Caroline Keating, Jennifer Wright and Stephanie Buckner, broke the 800 Free Relay record with their 7:33.30 finish. The senior is a biology/pre-med major with a perfect cumulative GPA. She was selected as the Rhodes Scholarship candidate for the University. She is a two-time academic All-MAC Selection.
Guyer, a native of Columbus, Ohio owns a perfect 4.00 GPA and is majoring in biology. She was also a finalist for the Walter Byers Scholarship. Guyer, a co-captain this past season with the gymnastics team, registered six first-place finishes throughout the season. She also has 11 top-three finishes. She finished first on the floor exercise three times throughout the year including a 9.850 against Eastern Michigan. She also has one first-place finish on the vault and five top three finishes, including a 9.775 vs. Western Michigan and 9.725's versus Northern Illinois and at the All-Ohio. She was named MAC Gymnast of the Week once, where she finished first on the beam and floor against Northern Illinois. She was also named MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week on Feb. 23 after leading the Falcons to a near win at Western Michigan. Last season, Guyer earned first-team honors.
