KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The women's track team sent four to the NCAA Mid-East Regional Track and Field Championships this past weekend and struggled to find their groove.
Jamie Roflow was the top finisher for the Falcons where she finished 10th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 10:41.13. Roflow just missed out on an at large bid to the NCAA National meet in Sacramento. She would have been the number 30 runner in the nation but only 27 women were taken in the event.
Whitney Hartman had a good throw in the hammer with a toss of 259-05.
Jessica White finished in 26 with a time of 11.82 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
Takara Dunning finished 16 with a throw of 47-07.75.
Assistant coach Cami Wells thought the meet went pretty well for the Falcons and all the women had good meets.
White, Roflow, Dunning and Hartman will all return for the 2006-2007 and many of them will contend for MAC titles as well as qualify themselves towards Nationals.
The Falcons will take the summer off and return to workout in the fall.
