BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Former Falcon slugger Nolan Reimold has been named to the 2006 XM Satellite Radio All-Star Futures Game as a member of the United States team. The All-Star Futures Game pits some of the top-rated baseball prospects in a United States vs. the World in a showdown that will be held during the MLB All-Star Week in early July.
Reimold owned national-leading slugging percentage his junior season in 2005. Thirty of his 51 hits that season went for extra bases (20 home runs, 7 doubles, 3 triples). He also hit for average, sitting second on the BGSU squad with a .366 batting average and sixth all-time at Bowling Green with a .369 career batting average. Defensively, the junior roamed right field without committing an error in 83 fielding opportunities. The Pennsylvania native was also named the MAC Player of the Year in 2004 before being drafted in the second round by the Baltimore Orioles.
The five-tool player is currently batting .269 with nine homeruns and 41 RBI through 60 games with the Class-A Frederick Keys. Reimold's 11 stolen bases showcase his speed on the base paths.
