Perrysburg, Ohio - Bowling Green State University Men's Basketball Coach Dan Dakich was among several guest speakers at Career Day at Frank Elementary School in Perrysburg. He was joined by Assistant A.D for Communications J.D. Campbell in representing the BGSU Athletic Department. Their appearances were arranged by Latasha Lane of BGSU's Student-Athlete Services department.
"I always enjoy getting out and visiting the kids in our community, but this event was unique in a lot of ways," said Dakich. "Kids had a chance to choose which careers they were interested and it was nice to meet them in a classroom setting."
Like the firemen, nurses, veterinarians, physical therapists and others who spoke during three 20-minute sessions, Coach Dakich gave examples of his daily routine and showed video clips of his program to a very captive audience.
Each student could choose three careers to learn about. Campbell's presentation centered around BGSU games that appeared on television.
