Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University Men's Basketball program held its 10th Annual Scholarship Golf Outing on Friday, August 4 at Forrest Creason Golf Course on the BGSU campus.

The event annually raises money that is used directly to fund scholarships for members of the program to attend summer school.

"I know that I benefited from this," said 2002 graduate Len Matela, who pledged a gift to this program earlier this summer. "It set me up academically to be successful, but it also allowed me to work on my game year round. Without that I would have never been able to attain my two biggest goals which were to earn a degree and play basketball professionally."

Matela will once again play professionally in Belgium this coming season.

"We are fortunate to have so many wonderful friends of our program," said men's basketball coach Dan Dakich. "I want them to know how much our program appreciates their generosity."
