Red Hot Falcons to Host Miami Wednesday Night

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State Univeristy volleyball team will welcome the Miami RedHawks to Anderson Arena Wednesday night for a 7 PM showdown. Bowling Green (12-2, 2-0) has won eight consecutive matches.
A Look at the RedHawks
Miami (4-11, 0-2) comes to Anderson Arena suffering a four-match losing skid, including an 0-2 record in conference play. However, the RedHawks are a very physical team that was picked to finished second in the East Division according to the Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Coach Carolyn Condit's squad is led offensively by Carli Reihman and Emily Schroeder. Reihman and Schroeder average 3.34 and 3.72 kills per game, respectively. Melissa Zenz and her 4.20 digs per game pace MU on the defensive side of the net. Miami leads the all-time series 36-18, and a 13-6 edge inside Anderson Arena. Bowling Green won the last contest between the two however, a 3-1 win on the road late last season. Kendra Halm terrorized the RedHawks with 22 kills in Nov. 3rd matchup.
Good Start to MAC Season
After a 10-2 start in the non-conference schedule, BGSU posted a 2-0 record to begin Mid-American Conference play with wins over Toledo (30-23, 30-25, 30-25) and Ball State (30-22, 30-18, 30-19).
Hottest Team in the MAC
Bowling Green has ripped off eight consecutive wins, including a pair of sweeps to open the conference schedule. During the stretch, the Falcons are hitting a blistering .319 while suffocating the opposing attack by holding them to a .135 hitting pace.
Swiger Takes Home MAC Honors in Back-to-Back Weeks
Junior Stephanie Swiger was named MAC East Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, announced the conference office on Sept. 25. The Findlay, Ohio native has led the Falcons to a 6-0 record over the last two weeks. During that stretch has compiled 80 kills while hitting at a .358 pace. Swiger dominated the other side of the net as well, averaging 1.14 blocks per game in last six matches.
