BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Senior Chrissy Gothke was named the MAC East Player of the Week on Sept. 4th, announced the Mid-American Conference.

Gothke was the catalyst for the Falcon offense which hit .257 during the three-match stretch. As the setter and only senior of the squad, Gothke's 11.89 assists/game guided BGSU to a "weekend sweep," winning nine games and dropping zero to take the tournament crown in Denver, Colorado. The Whitehouse, Ohio native racked up triple-digit assists (107) in just nine games over the weekend. She did more than just set up points however, recording 14.0 points while in the Rockies. In the Falcons toughest win of the weekend, the Friday night match against Denver, Gothke played her best when her team needed it. She hit .286 with two blocks and an impressive three service aces in the 3-0 sweep. Gothke steered the Falcon offensive attack in a win over Cleveland State on Tuesday night as well. Her 58 assists against the Vikings raises her weekly assist per game average to a 12.69 pace while leading the Falcons to a perfect 4-0 week that included a tournament crown. The Falcon setter finished the week with 165 assists (12.69 per game), 22 digs, 5 service aces, and 4 blocks.
