Bowling Green Head Coach Dan Dakich
Opening Statement
"This was the first time in two years I felt like we played like my teams used to play in the second half. It's obviously my fault that we don't play like that more. We didn't jack shots ... we didn't quick shoot ... we threw the ball inside ... we got after them. The guys in the second half, like I said, played Bowling Green basketball like it used to be played. Hopefully we can build on that."
"Miami, I think, is really good. I think they played such a very tough schedule that you just have to tip you hat to them. Don't worry about their record. They are going to be a very good team in our league."
On the decision to sit Martin Samarco in the second half
"That is my decision totally. I gave another kid a chance at the end of the (first) half, Darryl Clements. The team at the end of the half played with energy, toughness, got four straight stops at the end of the half, and I just made up my mind I was going to go that route."
Miami University Head Coach Charlie Coles
Opening Statement
"(Bowling Green) made a game of it. I have always said that one of the best coaches I have ever seen when his team is behind is Dan Dakich. We have been burned several times by him. You look at our victory, there are a lot of things we didn't do. But since it was Bowling Green, I am going to take it. We could have lost that game. They got awful close."
On what was the difference was in the second half
"What I saw them do was that they were still running their motion, but they were running it quicker. They were a passing team in the first half and a driving team in the second half. They showed their quickness in the second half."
