The Bowling Green State University Falcons finished 11th in the Nittany Lion Invitational on Monday capping off their third round with a combined score of 324 (330-335-324).
The Orange and Brown were able to chip away, improving on their previous round score of 335. Leading the flock was senior Jessica McCann, who fired an 80 on the final day of play in University Park. Her third day score would leave her in a tie for 23rd at the invitational.
Placing T-40 for the tournament was Carley Hrusovsky, who shot a three round total of 248. On the final day she was able to drop 10 strokes off her second round total to finish with an 81 for the day.
On the final day it was freshman Lauren Glew who flipped places with Hrusovsky. Glew lead Hrusovsky heading into the final day leading by one shot, by the time the cards were signed Glew would find herself one shot behind the senior. Her final day score of 83 would net her a tie for 43rd with four other participants.
Freshman DeO'nna Anderson shot an 81 on the way to a tournament score of 253 (87-85-81). Anderson improved on her score in each round as she finished tied for 56th at the tournament.
Megan Gormley, a sophomore from Shoreview, Minn. improved from her first day combined score of 178 (90-88) to card an 82, the third best score of the day for the Falcons. Her strong play in the final round placed her in the sole possession of 64th place.
Bowling Green will travel to Franklin, Ind. to participate in the Shootout at the Legends on October 8th. Following the Shootout at the Legends the Falcons will compete in their last tournament until the spring in Daytona Beach, Fla. when Xavier hosts the LPGA International Xavier Invitational.
