OXFORD, Ohio (BGSUFalcons.com) - The Bowling Green State University football team fell by a 47-14 score to Miami University Saturday afternoon (Oct. 13). A few notes and numbers from the game ...
* The Falcons lost for the first time in Mid-American Conference play this season ... BGSU is now 3-3 overall and 1-1 in MAC action this year to date.
* Miami had 499 yards of total offense, while holding the Falcons to 232 yards on the day.
* Redshirt junior John Haneline had a total of 18 tackles in the game ... Haneline now has a team-high 68 tackles in this season's six games.
* Just for reference ... according to the NCAA Division I football records book, the record for total tackles in a game is 26, set by Brian Leigeb of Central Michigan (vs. Northern Ill., Nov. 17, 2000) and matched by Doug Szymul of Northwestern (vs. Navy, Sept. 21, 2002) -- NOTE: The NCAA's tackles records only go back to 2000 ... the MAC media guide lists the league single-game record as 33 tackles.
* In addition to Haneline, sophomore Roger Williams was a bright spot for the Falcons on Saturday ... Williams had a total of 172 yards on seven kickoff returns, including a 56-yard return on the game's opening kickoff.
* On his second return of the day, Williams took a short kickoff and quickly headed upfield for a 31-yard return to the BGSU 49-yard line.
* Redshirt sophomore Chris Wright made his first career start.
* The Falcons' first touchdown of the game came courtesy of fifth-year senior Dan Macon ... Macon had back-to-back runs totalling 23 yards, with the second carry a nine-yard TD run ... Macon has scored four career touchdowns, including one in each of the last two games.
* BGSU's other touchdown came late in the fourth quarter, when Anthony Glaud his Marques Parks on a 21-yard passing play ... for Glaud, it was his second TD toss in as many weeks, and the second of his career.
* Parks now has a total of four career touchdown receptions, with all coming this season.
* Freshman Willie Geter had a 33-yard reception from sophomore Tyler Sheehan in the late stages of the first half ... the reception was a career-long for Geter.
