Head Coach Scott Paluch
Opening statement
"I thought it was a really good college hockey game. I think this a very difficult building to play in. I think they have a good club. They're a very physical club and I was proud of how our guys held up after having to play in another extremely tough building at Niagara the night before."
Did all the special teams play in the first and second periods help your team or did it set them back?
"Well for our team its not exactly the recipe for us right now. I think our club is a better team when we're playing 5-on5 and we can a lot of players a lot more. When we get caught in a special teams game though we're playing too many guys more than we want to play them. But again, I like the way our team held up, getting a lead then withstanding their run to come right back get a big goal to end the second period. I thought that was obviously the key play in the game."
How big was that fourth goal for you guys?
"I think the big thing about it is when you're on the road you got handle a lot of ups and downs. There are a lot of momentum changes going on and your team has to be a resilient group that can handle those things. For them to come back and make it 3-3 with all the momentum in their favor and for us to make some key plays on that play it was huge. It was a great play by Patrick Tiesling down low and Kai Kantola was `Johnny on the spot' for us."
Coming into the game was there any extra incentive on your part knowing that Wayne [Wilson] and Brian [Hills] were on the other side of the bench?
"No, it's just those two guys are really special alumni members of Bowling Green and were two guys that meant a lot to our program. They're real good friends of mine, but also what they did for Bowling Green when you're talking about the second-leading scorer of all-time in Brian Hills and you got the captain of the 1984 championship team in Wilson, it's just a special occasion that we were looking forward to taking part in. They've done a a really great job at RIT and they've built a good program over here."
