Sheehan Named MAC East Offensive POW

CLEVELAND, Ohio - For the third time this season Tyler Sheehan earned MAC East Offensive Player of the Week honors, which was announced by the conference this afternoon (Nov. 19). Sheehan, who is the only player in the MAC to earn three player of the week honors this season, had 307 combined yards last weekend in a 31-17 win over Buffalo as he celebrated his 20th birthday.
The Cincinnati, Ohio native was 20-of-29 passing for 248 yards and two touchdowns. He also had one reception for 25 yards and a score. Lastly, he chipped in with 36 yards rushing on eight carries.
As mentioned before, this is the third time the sophomore has been named MAC East Offensive Player of the Week. His other honors include a 388-yard, two touchdown effort in a 32-31 win over Minnesota and a 270-yard, four touchdown performance in a win over Temple.
On the year, the first year starting quarterback is 269-of-423 (64%) for 2,898 yards and 20 touchdowns. He has two receiving touchdowns on the season, the only quarterback in the nation with this feat, and has 84 rushing yards and three scores.
Sheehan and the Falcons host Toledo this Friday at 2:30 in the regular season finale for both squads.
