Several Falcons Set PRs at Findlay Open

FINDLAY, Ohio - Several members of the Bowling Green State University track team competed at the Oilers Opener, hosted by Findlay, Saturday (Dec. 1). The event was held in the Malcolm Athletic Center, located inside the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex.
Senior Liz Honegger finished eighth out of over 50 competitors in the shot put, with an effort of 13.27 meters. No fewer than three Falcons set personal records in the weight throw, as Lauren Bryant and Whitney Hartman finished third and fourth, respectively. Bryant had a throw of 18.12 meters, while Hartman had a PR of 17.84 meters.
Stacey Turak finished 18th in that event, with an effort of 13.96m, while Honegger was right behind, placing 19th with a best throw of 13.81m.
Sophomore Sabrina Forstein matched her personal best in the pole vault, with an effort of 3.35m. Redshirt freshman Autumn Dettman, in the first track competition of her career, finished fifth in the mile run, in a time of 5:28.34.
Turak also competed in the shot, with a throw of 9.77m.
The Falcons' next scheduled event is the BGSU Triangular, which will be held at Perry Field House on Jan. 12, 2008.
