Women's Basketball to Face Toledo in Televised Contest

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference has announced the Bowling Green State University women's basketball game at rival Toledo on February 2, 2008 is one of eight regular-season games that will be aired on either the FSN Ohio or Comcast Local stations. The opening tip at Savage Hall has been changed from its original 4:30 p.m. time and is now set for 2:30 p.m.
Also on deck for MAC women's basketball will be the live airing of a league-high 10 post-season tournament match-ups from Quicken Loans Arena in downtown Cleveland in mid-March.
Providing the color commentary and in-game analysis will be Jeff Phelps and Robin Mueller throughout the 2007-08 syndicated package.
Fans will have multiple opportunities to see BGSU women's basketball this season in the event they can not cheer in the bleachers at the live event.
Not only will a majority of the squad's home game be broadcasted via Toledo local station, BCSN, the Orange and Brown will also make their first ever appearance on the Big Ten Network when they travel to Indiana to face the Hoosiers in 10 days. The February squall with the Rockets on FSN Ohio will mark the third network to broadcast a Falcon women's basketball game in 2007.
To date, the Falcons are 1-1 when aired on BCSN this season.
On the men's side, the schedule began on Thursday, November 22 as Miami took on South Alabama in the Anaheim Classic (ESPNU) and culminates with quarterfinal (FSN Ohio), semifinal (FSN Ohio) and Championship game (ESPN2) coverage of the First Energy MAC Men's Basketball Tournament on March 12-15.
Michael Reghi will be joined by MAC Hall of Famer and former Toledo and Philadelphia 76ers standout Steve Mix as talent for the MAC men's basketball syndicated package.
FSN Ohio will once again produce a "MAC Scoreboard Show" between games on the four (4) doubleheader weekends (Jan. 26, Feb. 2, Feb. 9 and Feb. 16). The show will be hosted by FOX 8's Tony Rizzo and FSN Ohio's Kendall Lewis.
Additionally, the field for the 2008 O'Reilly ESPNU BracketBusters event on Friday, February 22 and Saturday, February 23 will include all 12 Mid-American Conference schools. BracketBuster pairings will be made in early February and will be televised on the ESPN Family of Networks.
A total of 59 men's and women's games will be aired this season.
