Scott Boley has started all 26 games for the Rockets this season, and is batting at a team-high .380 pace. Drew Hoisington has belted seven homeruns and 29 RBI in 26 starts as well.
Mother Nature Strikes Again
Wednesday night's non-conference game at Notre Dame was cancelled due to snow fall in South Bend, Indiana. It marks the third time that inclement weather has taken away a game from the Falcons this season, along with several other home games being delayed due to rain or sub-freezing conditions. BGSU earned a big-time win in 2006 by traveling to Notre Dame and snapping the Fighting Irish's 23-game winning streak with an 11-8 victory. The Irish were ranked in the top 25 and owned the country's longest winning streak before the Falcons came to town. Sophomore Dusty Hawk earned the "W" as a freshman last season and was scheduled to get the start once again this week.
Falcons Dominate the `Dons
Runs were a plenty at Warren E. Steller Field Tuesday afternoon as the Bowling Green State University baseball team took a 19-10 victory over the IPFW Mastodons. BGSU banged out 19 runs on 19 hits. In three games versus the `Dons this year, Bowling Green has outscored them 49-15. The Brown and Orange own a .439 team batting average against the Mastodons this season, led by Junior Andrew Foster's 8-for-9 showing at the plate.
Foster went off for the baseball hat trick with three homeruns, one for every official at bat in the third game on April 3rd. The Bowling Green, Ohio native racked up five RBI and four runs scored while going 3-for-3 at the plate. As a team, the Falcons six total homeruns were one shy of the school record for most homeruns in one game. Sophomore Brian Hangbers stroked his team-leading fifth homerun while Senior Mike Barnard and Freshman Derek Spencer each poked their first dinger on the year.
