Volleyball Continues Spring Schedule

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green Volleyball headed to Maumee, Ohio over the weekend to compete at the Premier Academy Tournament. The Falcons racked up a 2-0-2 match record and a 6-2 mark in games played.
First up, the Falcons rolled over Wright State winning both games by scores of 30-15 and 30-22. The Brown and Orange dominated on both sides of the net, posting a .372 hitting efficiency and a 4.5 blocks per game average. Corrie Mills led the way with a .538 hitting pace. Kendra Halm chipped in 10 kills while Stephanie Swiger recorded nine kills and seven blocks.
Next up was another 2-0 sweep by the Falcons, this time over Cincinnati (30-19, 30-24). They hit .276 as a team, paced by Halm's .500 hitting percentage en route to 10 kills and four blocks. Mills and Swiger also hit above .300.
Match number three pitted the Falcons against the Dayton Flyers. Bowling Green took game one 30-27 before dropping a dramatic game two, 28-30. Halm recorded nine kills, four blocks and a .386 hitting efficiency while Swiger compiled eight kills and hitting at a .467 pace.
The last match of the weekend resulted in another split as BGSU lost game one 24-30, then rebounded with a 30-28 win in the second stanza. Mills served as the workhorse for Bowling Green in the final match, racking up 10 kills with a .500 hitting percentage.
Defensively on the day, Elizabeth Simon and Maggie Karges excelled by compiling 30 and 26 digs, respectively. Swiger led the team with two blocks per game.
