NASHPORT, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's golf team climbed one spot on Sunday afternoon to finish seventh at the 2007 Mid-American Conference Championships with a 72-hole score of 1335 (341-330-335-329). The Falcons' final round score of 329 was the fifth-best performance on the final day of competition among the eight team field.
Leading the way for the Orange and Brown was Kari Liggett. The senior, playing in her final MAC Championships, had the top Falcon performance in all four rounds, finishing with a personal-best 76 on Sunday afternoon. The 76 was tied for third-best in the final round.
Overall, the Brighton, Michigan native finished 11th overall (81-81-82-76=320) in the tournament, the top Falcon performance since Jenny Schnipke finished 3rd in 2004. In fact, the 11th place finish is the fifth-best performance by a Falcon since the beginning of the MAC Championships in 1999.
Following Liggett were four juniors, tops being Carley Hrusovsky. The Canton, Ohio native carded an 85 on the final day to finish with a 72-hole score of 337, placing her 27th overall.
The three other Falcon competitors included Amanda Bader (340, 31st), Jessica McCann (343, 34th) and Lindsey Jonkhoff (255, 38th).
