The team is the result of voting by the faculty athletic representatives at the MAC's member tennis institutions sponsoring the sport. Both Jakupcin and Menoff have been named to the team for the first time in their respective Falcon careers.
Jakupcin, a native of Dublin, Ohio (Bishop Watterson HS), recently completed a stellar career with the Falcons. The tri-captain finished the year with 28 total wins, including a 17-15 singles record and an 11-10 doubles mark.
Jakupcin, who played all but one of her singles matches at the top flight this season, had a 5-3 record in MAC play and a 1-1 record at the MAC Championships. Her win in the league tourney, in a third-set tiebreaker, was the Falcons' final match left on the court and gave the Brown and Orange a 4-3 win in the quarterfinal round against Miami.
In doubles play, Jakupcin had a MAC record of 5-1, teaming with Samantha Kintzel at the third flight in all six of those matches. Jakupcin won eight of her last nine doubles matches to end the regular season (both of her tournament doubles matches were abandoned).

Jakupcin, named to the 2007 All-MAC First Team, also was selected to the MAC's All-Tournament Team. She has a 3.74 cumulative grade-point average as a psychology major.
Menoff, a native of Naperville, Ill. (Neuqua Valley HS), led the Falcons with a total of 38 wins this seasoen. She finished the year with an outstanding 23-2 singles record, including a perfect 7-0 mark in MAC duals -- best in school history -- at the sixth flight. She became the first-ever BGSU player to finish the conference regular season with an undefeated record (minimum two decisions), and her total of seven MAC singles wins tied the school single-season mark.
Menoff lost only three total sets in her seven MAC singles matches. In all three cases, she dropped the opening set before rallying back to win the match. She ended the season with a nine-match singles winning streak, and won 13 of her last 14 matches of the year.
Menoff's only two singles losses in 25 decisions on the season came vs. players from Ohio State and Michigan State. She has a career singles record of 41-10. Menoff finished with a doubles mark of 15-12 on the year.
Menoff has a 3.85 cumulative GPA as an early childhood education major.
Jakupcin and Menoff were joined on the Academic All-MAC Team by Akron's Jenna Larson, Ball State's Jennifer Pollack and Haly Calderwood, Buffalo's Natalie Dean and Katrin Fischer, Eastern Michigan's Yana Parfenyuk, MU's Linda Jirouskova, Northern Illinois' Chrissy Nagel and Western Michigan's Carrie Jeanmaire, Kerstin Pahl and Priyanka Parekh.
The honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50% of the contests for that particular sport. First year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award. Outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments from the current season only are considered.
The Falcons concluded the 2006-07 season with an overall dual-match record of 13-9, and a MAC regular-season mark of 4-4. BGSU advanced to the semifinal round of the MAC Championships for the first time in seven years.
