BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (BGSUFalcons.com) - The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team took a break from studying during exam week, taking some time to give back to the community. The student-athletes donated their time and effort to a Habitat for Humanity project.
The current members of the women's soccer team made their annual trip to a Habitat for Humanity building site to help with construction. Rising senior Tiffany Hansen shared some thoughts on the team's experience.
"This year, the team was in charge of building a utility shed that would accompany the habitat house," said Hansen. "Although we were under the watchful eyes of the Habitat for Humanity crew, they trusted us to do all of the construction of the shed ourselves.
"Despite a few bent nails at the beginning, we feel that we did a great job, and we left feeling rewarded for having taken part in providing assistance to a family in need. The project was part of the team's ongoing commitment to becoming actively involved in the community."
