NEW ORLEANS - The Bowling Green State University women's track and field program of head coach Cami Wells is one of 97 programs across the country that has recently been named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic team list, which was announced on Monday.
This is the first year that the Falcons have been named to the All-Academic list. They carry an overall GPA of 3.119.
"I am very proud of the women on the team," said Cami Wells. "The team has been working on improving the team GPA and making academics first priority so it is nice to see their hard work rewarded in this way."
The Arizona Sun Devils were named the indoor and outdoor Division I Women's All-Academic Team of the Year. The selection of the All-Academic Indoor and Outdoor Team's of the Year award is based on a combination of athletic and academic achievements. The top honor goes to the team that has the best finish at the Division I Indoor and/or Outdoor National Championships and that also holding the highest cumulative GPA. To be nominated, the team must carry a minimum 3.000 GPA.
