BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (BGSUFalcons.com) - The Bowling Green State University football team officially began preparations for the 2007 season Friday (Aug. 3), as players reported to Doyt L. Perry Stadium. The football Falcons held their annual media day on Friday afternoon before heading into meetings. The initial fall practice is scheduled for Saturday.

The Falcons will have four days of 'two-a-days' during the preseason, with two practices scheduled on Aug. 9, 11, 13 and 15. BGSU will hold one practice on each of the other days prior to the start of classes on Aug. 20.
Members of the media interviewed Falcon players and coaches, both on the new Perry Stadium FieldTurf and in the Sebo Athletic Center, located at the north end of the stadium.
"This is a completely different place this year," said head coach Gregg Brandon. "When we open the season at home, against Temple (on Sept. 22), our fans will show up and won't even recognize it. We've got a brand-new building, a brand-new weight room, brand-new training room, brand-new lockerroom and a brand-new field. It's going to be exciting, and we are ready to get it cranked up.
"This is a state-of-the-art facility. But, the building isn't what wins games; it's the people you put in these buildings that win games. We won a lot of games over there (using the old facilities). We are going to continue putting great players in these buildings. Now, though, we've got a chance to upgrade our recruiting. We've played on national TV over the last few years as well. All of those factors go into the plan for success."
The Falcons' first game is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 1, at Minnesota. In addition to the Temple contest, other home dates are Sept. 29 vs. Western Kentucky, Oct. 27 vs. Ohio, Nov. 2 vs. Akron and Nov. 23 vs. Toledo.
