BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - After a winter break of heavy training, the Bowling Green State University Falcons will open up the 2008 Mid-American Conference schedule on the road, as they compete against the University of Akron Zips on Saturday (Jan 19.).
The two teams have already competed against one another this year. The Zips made the trip to Bowling Green previously on Oct. 19 to participate in the Tom Stubb Relays to open the season. In addition, the Falcons will look to pick up their first MAC duel meet win of the year.
The competition is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
Scouting the Zips:
Akron posted their first duel meet win last Saturday (Jan. 12) against Marshall in Huntington, WV (174-126). Their record now stands at 1-5 overall and 1-4 in the MAC. The Zips also placed sixth out of ten teams in the Zippy Invitational, in which they hosted.
Scouting the Falcons:
Bowling Green jumps back into the water after a long break from competition. BGSU most recently competed in the OSU Invitational in December, where they placed seventh overall in a field of 15 schools at the Bill and Mae McCorkle Aquatics Pavilion on the campus of Ohio State University.
Junior Alisha Yee leads the Falcons in first-place finishes with 13 and sophomore Frankie Houck is second with six top times.
