Falcons Host Bulls in the First Round of the MAC Tournament

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The BGSU volleyball team finished the 2008 regular season campaign 23-8 overall and 12-4 in the Mid-American Conference. This season marked the third straight season of 20-plus wins and fifth consecutive winning season for head coach Denise Van De Walle and the Falcons. The Falcons earned the #5 seed in the MAC Tournament and will host Buffalo on Tuesday (Nov. 18) at 7:00 p.m. in Anderson Arena for the first round of the tournament. MAC Tournament action will then move to the SeaGate Centre this weekend Friday (Nov. 21) through Sunday (Nov. 23).

MAC TOURNAMENT CENTRAL
All of the 2008 MAC Tournament action will be available on the MAC Tournament central by logging on to mac-sports.com. The MAC Tournament central will include live video of the matches, updated statistics and tournament information along with up-to-the-minute statistics on the web via GameWatcher for all MAC Tournament matches. The 2008 MAC Tournament quarterfinals, semifinals and championship game will also be broadcasted on BCSN.
MAC TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND MATCH-UP
Falcons vs. Bulls • (11/18 • 7:00 p.m.)
The Falcons will start off the MAC Tournament against East Division foe Buffalo ... the Bulls are currently 6-24 overall and 1-15 in the MAC after dropping two matches last week ... the Bulls fell to BG (0-3) and Miami (0-3) ... the Falcons lead the Bulls 17-1 in their all-time series and are undefeated, 10-0 in the series at Anderson Arena with their only loss to Buffalo taking place on Oct. 2003 when the Falcons lost the match in five sets ... the Falcons are on a eight match winning streak against the Bulls ... the Falcons have won both meetings this season with the last meeting between the two teams just this past weekend Nov. 14 as the Falcons swept the Bulls in Anderson Arena on Parents Night.

FALCONS IN THE MAC TOURNAMENT
The Falcons will make their third appearance in the first round of the MAC Tournament as they host Buffalo. The Falcons hold on overall record of 2-1 in the first round of the tournament.
MEEK CHASES DOWN MAC HISTORY
Falcon libero Chelsey Meek has amassed 2,231 career digs hundreds of digs past the former BGSU record as she became the first Falcon to record 2,000 career digs. Meek continues to chase down history this time on the heels of the Mid-American Conference career dig record, 2,273 digs held by Stephanie Keller from Ball State. Meek is only 42 digs shy of tying the record entering the MAC Tournament.
