CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced their 2008 Academic All-MAC teams this afternoon (Dec. 19) with six members of the Bowling Green State University football team capturing the award. Cody Basler, Craig Rutherford and Jimmy Scheidler were named to the Academic All-MAC Team, while Nick Iovinelli, Marques Parks and Sinisa Vrvilo were honorable mention.

Iovinelli was recently honored by the MAC after being named to the third-team earlier this year. He averaged 40.4 yards a punt, while placing 12 punts inside the opponents' 20 yard-line.
Rutherford served as the team's long snapper on field goals and extra points. He currently maintains a 4.0 grade-point average.
Parks made 10 starts this season and saw action in all 12 games. His best game came versus Wyoming where he had five receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown. He finished the season with 19 receptions for 248 yards and four scores.

Vrvilo converted on nine of 16 field goals and 41 of 43 extra points in his senior year. He had season-long makes of 44 yards at Akron and Wyoming. He added six touchbacks on kickoffs in 2008.
