What do you like to do in your spare time?
Haha, what spare time? When I do get a chance, I enjoy scrapbooking, bowling, and watching movies. Lately I just like to relax when I get some free time.
What are two things most people don't know about you?
I am extremely shy around people I do not know until I warm up to them. I am obsessive about keeping my shoes clean.
Where would you like to spend a week long vacation?
I would like to go to Hawaii someday.
What's your favorite food?
I get made fun of back home because I love corn in any form. This is anywhere from corn nuggets to baked or creamed corn. I am always adding corn to my food if I can.
If someone were to make a movie of your life, which actress would you want to play you?
I would have to say Drew Barrymore because she has a serious side as well as a fun, loving, and goofy side. I love all of her movies and she stars in some of my favorites.
What is one of your biggest pet peeves?
I think my biggest pet peeve is selfishness. When people only do things for themselves or associate with people just for their own benefit and act like they care, it really gets to me. This is why I dislike politics. Another pet peeve of mine is germs.
Who has had the biggest impact on your life so far? And how?
I have to mention 2 people. My mom is one of them because when times were rough growing up, she taught me to do with what we had and tried to make a positive out of every situation. She was a stay-at-home mother with 4 children and it was not easy all the time, but she did really well. I was a huge momma's girl and wanted to go everywhere she did and always be around her. She taught me how to be caring and honest and to always do the right thing.
The other is my grandma. I always consider her my hero because she is such a strong woman. She took care of her youngest son as he battled AIDS and then passed away about 10 years ago. Then my grandpa had many problems and was in and out of the hospital over about an 8 year span and she took care of him and was by his side every day until he passed away last year. I think they are the perfect example of true love and most people do not truly find that, so I envy her efforts and love for my grandpa and son as they had went through their hard times. She had been a strong role model for me with all she has been through and how she took it day by day and did the best she could to conquer the challenges.
What is one item that you couldn't live without?
This would definitely be anti-bacterial soap. I hate germs and wash my hands all the time. I always take a bottle of anti-bacterial soap with me when we stay at hotels because I cannot stand using the bar soap they supply.
If you could have any job in the world, what would be your dream job?
I have always wanted to be a dolphin trainer. I love dolphins and would absolutely love to work with them every day. Unfortunately growing up in Ohio did not give me the opportunity to explore my dream by the water, and the simple fact that I dislike science makes it difficult, but it is a neat thought.
What are you looking forward to about your senior year?
I am looking forward to having a great season with an awesome group of girls and keeping up the trend we have going of 20 win seasons as well as reaching our other goals. We have great talent with the 8 players we have now and are just going to add to it for next season with the freshman coming in. I just want to make a push for all 3 of us seniors, Chelsey, Meghan, and I, to have a great and memorable year.
