Falcon Club, Alumni and Development Offices Planning Events for Football's Season Opener at Pittsburgh

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University football team will open the 2008 season with a game at the University of Pittsburgh on Saturday, Aug. 30. The Falcons and Panthers will meet at Heinz Field in downtown Pittsburgh.
Falcon fans interested in securing transportation to and from the game, or in partaking in events once in the Steel City, have a myriad of options through the Falcon Club and the BGSU Office of Alumni and Development.
The Falcon Club will be taking busses to the game. The trip is open to all Falcon fans, and costs just $50 ($40 for Falcon Club members, $25 for BGSU students). Please note that this cost does not include a game ticket.
The busses will depart from Lot L, just north of Perry Stadium, on Saturday morning, Aug. 30. The departure time is TBA, but the busses will arrive in Pittsburgh in plenty of time for the alumni event.
That event will be a pre-game dock party on the Gateway Clipper, just outside Heinz Field. The event will begin two hours prior to game time, and the $25 cost includes food, giveaways and non-alcoholic beverages. Kids 12 and under will be admitted free.
Additionally, the Office of Alumni and Development has secured a block of hotel rooms at the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel, at the rate of $129 per night. Fans can make reservations by logging on to the hotel's web site and using group code BOWBOWA, or by calling the hotel at 1-866-454-4400. The deadline for reservations is two weeks prior to the game.
