Four Falcons Earn NGCA Scholar Award

CORAL SPRINGS, Florida - The National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar teams for Division I, II and III have been announced and four members of the Bowling Green State University women's golf team have earned the award.
Lauren Glew, Marisa Glew, Lindsey Jonkhoff and Carley Hrusovsky were named to the 2007-08 NGCA All-American Scholar team. Among Division I teams, the Falcons were tied for the fourth most award winners, with four recipients. A total of 402 golfers were named to the team within the three divisions.
To be eligible a golfer must have competed in 50% of the rounds, while also maintain at least a 3.5 grade-point average.
Lauren Glew was the top Falcon freshman for 2007-08, finishing with an 81.86 stroke average, one of the top scoring averages for freshman in the Mid-American Conference. In her first career tournament as a Falcon she finished third at the Laker Fall Classic, carding a 151 (77-74). Her 74 was the lowest round in school history by a Falcon freshman. Glew currently has a 3.9 grade-point average, while majoring in business.
Marisa Glew, the twin sister of Lauren, finished the season with an 84.75 stroke average. Her top finish came at the Falcon Invitational where she finished 14th. Glew is majoring in business, while maintaining a 3.60 grade-point average.
Jonkhoff, a native of Traverse City, Michigan, finished fourth on the team with an 83.73 stroke average, competing in 15 rounds. Her top finish came at the Falcon Invitational where she finished in a tie for seventh. Jonkhoff is a psychology major with a 3.88 grade-point average.
Hrusovsky earned a post graduate scholarship given to 13 women athletes in the country that want to continue to work in college athletics following the 2007-08 season. She finished second on the team with an 80.43 stroke average, with her top finish coming at the Falcon Invitational, where she finished in a tie for medalist honors. Hrusovsky majored in sport management, finishing with a 3.94 grade-point average.
