Bowling Green, Ohio - The Orange and Brown are set to take on I-75 rival, the Toledo Rockets (3-8), in their last away meet at the UT Student Recreation Center before the MAC Championships (Feb. 25-Feb. 28), held at BGSU.
While the rest of the university took a short hiatus to celebrate the holidays, the swimming and diving Falcons took that time to prepare for an intense last half of the season. The Falcons traveled to Coral Springs, Fla., on Jan. 3, 2009 where they were able to practice and train in warm weather.
Scouting the Rockets
The Toledo Rockets will be a tough match for the Orange and Brown as they are 2-2 in conference competition. The Rockets took a 3rd place finish at the Eastern Michigan Invitational in December and racked up two more losses to nationally ranked No. 21 Northwestern and No. 25 Notre Dame in a dual meet in early January.
Before the MAC Championships, the Falcons will entertain the University at Buffalo and Youngstown State University in dual meet on Feb. 6, at 5:00 p.m., and dive right back in the pool the next afternoon, Feb. 7 at 1:00 p.m., against the University of Akron. Both meets will be held at Cooper Pool.
