Falcons Finish Day One of Competition at the MAC Championships

KENT, Ohio - Track and field holds strong in 10th place after the first day of competition at the Mid-American Conference Championships.
"I am very pleased with the team effort today," said head coach Cami Wells.
Senior Whitney Hartman was the leading scorer for the Falcons placing fifth in the weight throw with a toss of 17.76 meters.
In the same event, senior TaKarra Dunning would toss a new personal best of 15.73 meters. Dunning would place 16th overall in the weight throw.
Senior Kara Butler would be the other scorer for the Falcons placing 6th in the 5,000 meter run, running a time of 17:33.98.
During preliminary events three other Falcons would break their personal records. Junior Shantell Lewis would run a time of 25.58 in the 200 meter dash, sophomore Heather Conger would run a 2:16.78 in the 800 meter run and junior Carly Wells ran a time of 2:17.24 in the 800 meter run.
"We want to continue to fight and do the best we can over the whole weekend," said Wells.
Bowling Green State University will continue in the MAC Championships on Saturday Feb. 28th at 10:45 a.m.
