Schneider Named MAC Golfer of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference has just announced that Matt Schneider has been named Golfer of the Week after finishing tied for ninth at the Palmas Del Mar Classic with a 54-hole score of 218.

This is the third time this season that Schneider has won the conference honor and the fourth time in his career. He shared the honor earlier this year with fellow Falcon John Powers after finishing second at the Earl Yestingsmeier Intercollegiate. He was also named MAC Golfer of the Week after earning medalist honors at the John Piper Intercollegiate back in September.

The Grand Rapids, Minn., native opened the Palmas Del Mar with a 73 and followed that up with a 77, but saved his best round for last. On the final day of competition Schneider carded a 4-under 68, the second-best round of the 54-player field.

Schneider currently is averaging 73.76 through 21 rounds of action, fifth-best in the conference.
