The Falcons, who averaged 322.93 through 15 rounds this past fall, are currently on pace to smash the school record for team average (323.36), had one of their best fall campaigns in recent memory. BGSU finished tied for second at the Huskie Classic, sixth at the Laker Fall Classic and seventh at the Zippy Invitational, all strong finishes this fall.
The Falcons, of fourth-year head coach Stephanie Young, bring a young squad into the Rio Verde, led by two juniors, three sophomores and a freshman.
BGSU is led by sophomore Lauren Glew, who averaged 80.80 this fall. She had two top-10 finishes this year, finishing 10th at both the Zippy Invitational (78-82-78) and the Huskie Classic (80-82). She also finished 16th at the Nittany Lion Invitational, posting three straight sub-80 rounds (77-76-79).
Junior Megan Gormley is having the best season of her career, averaging 80.80 through 15 rounds this fall. Gormley finished fifth at the Huskie Classic (77-80) and 18th at the Laker Fall Classic (83-74). Gormley has improved her stroke average in each of her three years, finishing with a 90.63 average as a freshman and 86.57 her sophomore campaign.
Marisa Glew, who ranks third on the team with an 81.26 average, finishes 16th at the Zippy Invitational (78-78-84) and 30th at the Cardinal Classic (77-78). Glew has improved her scoring average by over three strokes a round after finishing her freshman season with an 84.75 average.
Fourth on the team is sophomore Megan Bader, who averaged 83.33 through 15 rounds this fall. Bader's top performance of the season came in the first tournament of the year where she finished 23rd, but did shoot a career-best 71 in round two at the Laker Fall Classic, the second-lowest score in school history. Bader also nearly won medalist honors at the Huskie Classic after finishing second (79-77).
Hannah Lambert, much like many of her teammates, is having the strongest campaign of her career. Lambert finished 34th at the LPGA International (79-74-82) and 13th at the Huskie Classic (86-78), but the most impressive part of her resume is the improvement she has made. Lambert averaged 97.20 as a freshman and 85.17 her sophomore campaigns, while averaging a career-low 84.40 this season.
Completing the Falcon lineup is lone freshman Paula DiFrancesco. The freshman is averaging 84.60 through 15 rounds this fall. She shot a career-best 78 at the Cardinal Classic and finished 20th at the Huskie Classic (81-85).
