Future Falcon Named to Dream Team

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Wes Gates, a future member of the Bowling Green State University men's golf team was named to the Michigan All-State Dream Team by the Michigan High School Hockey Coaches' Association. Gates was one of two players that will be joining the Orange and Brown's golf program for 2009-10.
Gates, a native of Novi, Michigan, signed a National Letter of Intent back in mid November, to play golf for the Falcons for the 2009-10 academic season. According to golfweekrankings.com, Gates ranks as the sixth-best player in the state of Michigan on the links, but apparently has a strong hockey background as well.
Gates, a defenseman on the ice, was one of six members selected to the "Dream Team". Joining Gates was Jareth Glanda (Goalie), Mike Yanis (Defenseman), Camden Wojtala (forward), Brent Darnell (forward), Mac Olsen (forward).
Gates played in 26 games this season, recording 30 points (9g, 21a), while recording a plus-29 on-ice rating, helping his team to the 2009 Kensington Conference title.
