Falcons Finish 12th at Grand Prairie Classic; Glew Records Hole-in-One

The Bowling Green State University women's golf team fired a 343 on Sunday afternoon to finish 12th at the 2009 Grand Prairie Classic, hosted by Bradley University in Peoria, Ill with a score of 683. The final round of play, which was supposed to take place on Monday morning, has been cancelled with snow in the forecast.
Drake won the event with a 36-hole score of 632. They were followed by Missouri State (636), Indiana State (638), Bradley (639) and Western Illinois (647) to round out the top five.
Highlight of the day came from sophomore Marisa Glew, who only carded an 88 on the final day of action, did reach a feat that most golfers can only dream of. On the eighth hole the sophomore carded a hole-in-one, the first of her golf career. Glew finished the tournament with a 36-hole score of 175 (87-88), good enough for 63rd overall.
Top scorer for the Orange and Brown on Sunday was Marisa's twin sister, Lauren Glew. Glew led the team with an 83 on Sunday and finished the tournament in a tie for 43rd, recording a 168 (85-83).
Junior Hannah Lambert finished in a tie for 49th with a score of 170 (83-87), while freshman Paula DiFrancesco shot 172 (85-87) to finish in a tie for 59th.
Rounding out the Falcon golfers were Megan Gormley, 179 (93-86, T-77th) and Megan Bader, 179 (88-91, T-77th).
Up next for the Falcons will be a trip to Richmond, Ky., for the EKU Lady Colonel Classic (Apr. 11-12).
