Tournament Hosted by Site of 2011 MAC Championships
The Bowling Green State University women's golf team wraps up their five-tournament fall slate on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 18-19) when they travel to Nashport, Ohio for the 2010 Duramed Mid-American Conference Preview.
The tournament is called the MAC Preview because it has traditionally been hosted by the venue which will host the MAC championship tournament in the spring.
This 36-hole event will be the first time the Falcons face an almost-complete field of MAC opponents. Eight of the nine MAC teams that sponsor women's golf are taking part in the tournament; only Kent State will not be there.
Joining the eight Mid-American Conference teams to round out a field of ten are Cleveland State and Xavier.
The tournament takes place at the Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio. The teams will play one round of 18 holes on each day, competing on the club's par-72, 6,075-yard course.
Tee times run from 8:00 a.m. to 10:53 a.m. for each day's play. On the first day of play, the Falcons will be paired with Northern Illinois and Ohio University, and tee times occur between 9:32 a.m. and 10:08 a.m. for BGSU's five players. Tee times and pairings for Tuesday will be based on Monday's results.
The Falcons' five-player contingent will include senior co-captains Lauren and Marisa Glew, who each played on this course when the team last visited Nashport in April 2009. Also competing are Susy Grunden, Kelsey Benson and Amy Ruthenberg.
In last year's MAC Preview, the Falcons placed 14th with a total score of 992 (334-331-327). Susy Grunden tied for 11th place by carding a 233 over three rounds at the Fishers, Ind. course.
