Eno, Kain Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week
November 08, 2010 | General, Ice Hockey, Women's Swimming & Diving
Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Nick Eno and swimmer Alexis Kain.
Male Athlete of the Week
Nick Eno, a senior from Howell, Mich., served as a stone wall in Bowling Green hockey's win over nationally-ranked Notre Dame Friday night. He kept the Fighting Irish scoreless for the first 51 minutes and made 30 saves in a stunning 3-2 victory. Thirteen of his 30 saves were made while killing 10 Notre Dame power plays.
Female Athlete of the Week
Alexis Kain, a sophomore from Cincinnati, Ohio, swept the breaststroke events at Saturday's dual meet with Ohio University in Athens. In the 200 breaststroke, Kain set a personal record by finishing in 2:21.07. The record ranks seventh in BGSU history for the event, and Kain defeated her nearest opponent by nearly two seconds. She completed the 100 yard event in 1:04.97, just one second short of her personal record, and she defeated the closest Ohio competitor by 3.32 seconds.
