Swimming Resumes Season at Eastern Michigan Invitational

The Bowling Green State University swimming team travels to Ypsilanti, Mich. this weekend for the Eastern Michigan Invitational, the team's final action of the 2010 calendar year.
The meet includes ten area schools. Aside from Bowling Green and the hosts from EMU, the meet features swimmers from Mid-American Conference schools Ball State and Toledo, Big Ten schools Michigan and Michigan State, as well as Findlay, Wayne State, Waterloo, and Indiana-Purdue-Indianapolis (IUPUI).
Fourteen different individual and four different relay swimming events take place on Friday (Dec. 3) and Saturday (Dec. 4). Heats for the 1650 freestyle begin at 3:00 p.m on Friday., with the conclusion of the 1650 free and five other events beginning at 6:00 p.m. that evening. On Saturday, action resumes at 10:00 a.m. with seven events. The meet concludes beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday with the final five events.

This is the 25th year for the Eastern Michigan Invitational overall and the 21st year for the women's events.
Bowling Green enters the meet with victories in two of the team's three dual meets thus far in 2010. The Falcons defeated Akron 160-134 to open the season and won at Youngstown State, 174-119, in their most recent action (Nov. 12). BGSU fell at Ohio on Nov. 6, 173-119.
The team will have another month off after this meet before resuming their schedule on Jan. 14, 2011 at Cooper Pool against Eastern Michigan.
