Parking, Traffic Info for Friday's Falcon Soccer Matches
August 19, 2010 | General, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer
The Bowling Green State University men's and women's soccer teams each open the exhibition schedule at home on Friday (Aug. 20) at 5:00 p.m. The women's team will play a scrimmage against the University of Windsor on the Cochrane Field pitch, while the Falcon men will also meet UW, on the men's practice field (located between Cochrane Field and Doyt L. Perry Stadium).
Campus Map w/Move-In Day Traffic Routes - PDF
Those planning to attend one or both of the matches -- or anyone planning to be on campus on Friday -- should be advised of some parking procedures. Friday is move-in day for new incoming and transfer students, and the process will require the closing of some parking lots and modification of normal traffic patterns.
Stadium Drive (located just north of the soccer complex) will be restricted to one-way traffic on Friday, while Mercer Road will be closed between Wooster Street and Poe Road.
Fans planning to get to Cochrane Field and/or the men's practice field need to take Wooster Street to Alumni Drive and enter campus there (near the Visitors Center), following the established 'move-in' traffic pattern. Turn right at the first street (Stadium Drive) and follow it around Perry Stadium. Fans can park in the grass lot just north of Cochrane Field, in Lot L (Perry Stadium) or Lot 10 (BGSU Ice Arena lot) for the soccer matches.
Admission for both the men's and women's soccer matches is free. In fact, as part of the BGSU Centennial celebration, admission to all home Falcon soccer matches will be free in 2010.

Specific information is provided for each area of campus, and a campus map link is provided for those who are unfamiliar with lot indicators.
Northwest
Individuals who work in the northwest portion of campus (e.g., Math/Science, Technology, College Park, etc.) are advised that lots 3, H, and 5 will be unavailable. Further, Merry Avenue will be restricted to one-way traffic (westbound only) beginning at 7 a.m. It is recommended that individuals enter campus off Poe Road and North College Drive and park in the lots north of Technology (lots S, TE, TC, TS, TN, W and M). Parking will be available in Lot R; however, the lot will be difficult to access. Vehicles will need to enter campus at the Visitor Center on Alumni Drive and proceed along with orange/green move-in routes around the football stadium to get to Merry.
South/Southwest
Individuals who work in the west/southwest portion of campus (e.g., Administration, Williams, Union, McFall, etc.) are advised that lots E, 3, J, 11, and A will be unavailable. Further, Wooster Street continues to be closed between the railroad tracks and downtown. For those coming from the south, we highly recommend avoiding Wooster and suggest parking in the lots surrounding the Tucker Center on Troup Avenue (lots P, PX, 9 and 15). For everyone else, it is recommended that they enter campus along Poe Road to Enterprise Street and park in Lots 4 /4A. Parking will be available in lots G and 21; however, heavy traffic on Wooster and the low lot capacity do not make those recommended locations.
Northeast/East
Individuals who work in the northeast/east portion of campus (e.g., Jerome Library, Business Administration, Moore Musical Arts, etc.) are advised that lots N, K, 2, 5 and 12 will be unavailable. Further, Merry Avenue will be restricted to one-way traffic (westbound only) beginning at 7 a.m. It is recommended that individuals enter campus at the Visitor Center on Alumni Drive, follow the orange/green move-in routes to Merry and park in lots 10, 16, C and 1. Because move-in begins at 8 a.m., it is recommended that faculty and staff in this area arrive before that time to avoid being stuck in traffic.
