An interview with head coach Andy Richards
The Bowling Green State University women's soccer student-athletes are in town, and the 2010 preseason officially gets underway on Friday (Aug. 6). In addition to several organizational meetings scheduled for the opening day, the team will take part in the 'Falcon Fitness Test' and begin two-a-day practices this weekend.
Head coach Andy Richards begins his 11th season at the helm of the Falcons, and welcomes back a total of 17 letterwinners, including eight starters, from last year's team. The 2010 roster features no fewer than 30 players, including a whopping 12 newcomers.
Richards and assistants Scott Gloden, Tiffany Hansen and Brianne Eisenhard have four seniors on this year's roster, including co-captains Alicia Almond and Katie Stephenson. Alexa Arsenault and Jackie Tamerlano also begin their fourth playing seasons in the Brown and Orange.
The Falcons will host Windsor in an exhibition match on Friday, Aug. 20, before opening the regular-season schedule with a home match vs. Cincinnati two days later (Sun., Aug. 22). Six of BGSU's first eight regular-season matches, including the first three contests, will be held at Cochrane Field.
