For many basketball fans nationwide, the month of September unofficially ushers in the start of the college basketball season as the preview magazines begin hitting the newsstands. BGSU, which finished the 2009-10 season with an overall record of 27-7, is the lone MAC school listed. The Women's Top 25 article, written by Doug Herakovich, says the following about the Brown and Orange...
"The Falcons have won a record-setting six straight MAC titles under coach Curt Miller, and that streak should continue this winter. Bowling Green returns its top two scorers in senior swing player Lauren Prochaska and senior guard Tracy Pontius. Senior forward Jen Uhl will be counted on heavily on the inside."
Miller and the Falcons return 10 letterwinners, including three starters (Pontius, Prochaska and Uhl), from last year's club. BGSU went 14-2 in MAC regular-season play to post the conference's best record for the sixth consecutive year, then won the MAC Tournament for the fourth time in six seasons. The 2010-11 season begins on Friday, Nov. 12, at Evansville, with the home opener scheduled for three days later (Nov. 15) vs. Creighton.
