BGSU Faces Four MAC Opponents This Week
The Bowling Green State University women's golf team resumes their season on Monday (Sept. 27) when they travel to Muncie, Ind. to play in the Ball State Cardinal Classic.
The Cardinal Classic is a two-day, 36-hole tournament. The event takes place at the Players Club, which is a par-72, 6,258-yard course.
Fifteen different teams, including Bowling Green, will participate. That slate of teams includes four Mid-American Conference rivals: tournament host Ball State, Northern Illinois, Ohio University, and Western Michigan.
Also playing in the tourney will be Ashland, California (Pa.), Cleveland State, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, Indiana State, Indiana-Purdue-Indianapolis (IUPUI), Oakland, Southern Illinois and Youngstown State.
Play on both Monday and Tuesday commences at 9:00 a.m. with a shotgun start. Teams will play one round of 18 holes each day.
For the Orange and Brown, six athletes will complete in Muncie. The team lineup will consist of Susy Grunden, Marisa Glew, Paula DiFrancesco, Bailey Arnold and Amy Ruthenberg. Lauren Glew will compete as an individual. This will be the first action of the season for Marisa, one of BGSU's two seniors.
The Falcons have two tournaments under their belt thus far. Those were completed in a seven-day span, as the Falcons traveled to Texas and North Carolina.
A full recap and complete results will be posted right here at BGSUFalcons.com shortly after the conclusion of play each day.
