Falcon Track and Field Releases 2012 Schedule

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The 2012 season is just around the corner for the Bowling Green State University track and field team, and first-year head coach Lou Snellilng has announced the schedule for his inaugural season at the Falcons' helm.
The indoor season begins on Saturday, Jan. 14 when the Falcons host the BGSU Opener at the Perry Field House.
After a trip to Ann Arbor, Mich. for the Simmons-Harvey Invitational, the team returns home to host the Tom Wright Classic on Friday, Jan. 27.
On the following day, the BGSU track and field program will host its annual Sid Sink High School Open. The meet was named after former Falcon athlete and coach Sid Sink, who is also a member of the BGSU Athletics Hall of Fame.
The team competes at the Meyo Invitational (South Bend, Ind.), Findlay Open (Findlay, Ohio) and Akron Invitational (Akron, Ohio) in February prior to traveling back to Akron for the 2012 Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships. The championship meet will take place on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24-25.
The Falcons begin the outdoor season on Saturday, March 17 by traveling to Cincinnati, Ohio for the UC Early Bird Relays. Two weeks later, the team competes at the Toledo Collegiate Challenge.
BGSU will participate in meets on all four weekends during April. That slate is highlighted by the All-Ohio Championships in Oxford, Ohio on Friday and Saturday, April 20-21.
The regular season concludes with the MAC Outdoor Championships in Mount Pleasant, Mich. from May 10-12. The NCAA East Regional takes place two weeks after the MAC meet.
